Photos below show Vicki demonstrating a fabulous way of stretching watercolour paper over a canvas stretcher frame and how to avoid the pitfalls! Vicki also taught the manner in which the painting can be preserved archivally, without the need for expensive framing. Wow! What a revelation!

Coochie Art Group members today hung a fabulous display of prize-winning paintings in the Redland Art Gallery’s Red Box in Shop 48 Bloomfield on the Arcade corner opposite Browns Bakery. ( Great coffee thank you!) Do call in, all welcome, no entry fee. Most paintings are for sale. The display is only for a week, until Monday 15th October. >

Coochie Art Group will be hanging a superb display in the Redland Art Gallery’s Red Box, inside the shop at 48 Bloomfield Street, Cleveland, on the other side of the Arcade from Brown’s Bakery. Yum! The display will be hung on Monday, 8th October and will be dismounted on Monday 15th October. Members may be sketching, drawing or painting whilst on duty, so call in and have a look around. All welcome, no entry fee!

The Judge’s Choice prize in the 2018 Coochie Art Group Annual Art Sale and Show was won by Beryl Home’s wonderful painting “Morning Shadows”. It was also awarded First Prize in the OilAcrylics category. Well done Beryl and congratulations!

The People’s Choice Prize was won by Susan Kemp’s magical “Walk with Me”, also picking up a Highly Commended for this atmospheric depiction of Coochiemudlo’s Wetlands.
